Various 3D Animation Toronto Types And Methods

By Sharron Cantu

There are a variety of styles and methods pertaining to animation. Of these, 3D animation Toronto is the most popular style, seeing as it is the most expressive and physically enthralling. Making a movie by using photographs of objects, series of drawings or computer graphics itself can tell any sort of story or represent any subject matter. You could choose to show a cup falling and breaking on the ground, or create a fantastic animated film like Frozen or How to Train a Dragon.

The length at which you can create an animated movie varies. It all depends on the immensity and details of the project, and the process can range from within minutes to years. Animators can choose to use physical models or use computer software to complete their project. Various mediums in which you can use are pencil or computer drawings, to physical or computer models. For physical models, you can virtually use any sort of material including clay, sand, coins, buttons, etc.

Stop-motion process is where an animator or filmmaker takes shots of physical objects and characters. While captured video involves live-action movement, stop-motion is made up of continuous pictures of these intervened movements and changes. The other two basic styles are 2D and 3D. Combined, all three methods make up the basic types.

There are two different categories of the 2D method. The first style is cell animation. It's a manual style that was used by all animators before computer software was developed in its stead. Artists would draw every frame of the intended clip before shooting them with a camera. As you can imagine, this took quite a while to do. All the drawings had to be finished before the animator could connect all the photos together to create the finished film.

The second method of 2D process is done by using computer software. In this method, drawings and paintings are all done on the computer, and none physically drawn on paper. Adobe Flash is one of the most popular software animators use to create films like this.

There is also one other way of creating 2D animations. This involves actually using a mixture of the two 2D methods. For example, the animator could physically draw his or her drawings on paper, then scan them into a computer to color them in or add more design to it.

3D process provides the animator with the power to create even more detail to the characters in a clip. Therefore, when creating a full animation film, the 3D method is preferred. It give the film a lot more depth, as the view can see many more angles and details of each character or object. This is possible because 3D method involves using 3 axis, while 2D only has 2.

In no way is 3D method manually drawn on a piece of paper. Only software can be used to create such detail involved. Two popular animation software are Maya and 3D Max. However, many people prefer the simpler Blender, since Maya and 3D Max take a bit more getting used to.

Some animators will use motion capture instead. This is a mixture of 3D animation and live action. Animators render a captured clip in a 3D software to make it look animated.
