Why The American Jury System Review Is Necessary

By Ida Dorsey

The judicial system has been widely discussed in virtually all social media platforms as well as the televisions and radios, the reason behind this up rise is attributed to the rising crime rate and the fact that the criminals are let to walk scot-free. The law is known to be firm and it is rarely altered thus many individuals are getting out on mere technicalities and the blame is heaped on the juries. The American jury system review has been adopted to make some changes and improvements on some of the laws that are no longer applicable and also concur with the changing times.

The crime bill has been reviewed to empower the police with more jurisdiction to be able to cover the crimes that are being experienced all across the nation. The laws that do not make sense in this periods context are also being reviewed to ensure that they are in place and make judicial sense.

It is logical to be against the criticizing of the legal system because it is very hard to acquire another one but it can be altered and improved to fit in the recent times. As a matter of fact many people are shying of from juries since gangs and other affiliations are making their lives unbearable because the law cannot touch them.

Punishments are given in ranges rather than specific numbers which is very absurd looking at it from a laymans point of view. Similarly, plea bargains and parole make the judgment made in courts to look like a total joke since criminals or rather offenders get out in less time than they were prescribed by the judge.

Technology has also taken a toll on how justice is administered, discussions, editing as well as conveying crucial data is now entirely done through the internet. This is a positive move since more people can now get the information first hand and anytime they need or require it.

New crimes like cyber crimes and the heavy dependency of computers has made the administration of justice in some aspects literally impossible, on the bright side the evidence present in court can be animated for the jury to decipher more easily. The judgement made can be translated to words that everyone can understand so that no one is left out.

Problems change and so does the methods used to solve them, thus some of the ways used to administer justice should be changed since they not only sound absurd but also very illogical. Some of the crimes faced in the last century differ slightly from this century crimes thus new ways should be devised to solve them.

Over period change is bound to happen that it is equally good to keep up with the changes being experienced around, every change brings along a requirement which has to be fulfilled. The judicial system is the core field which has to be dynamic in order to maintain law and order.
