Get A Weekender Bag For Women

By Evelyn Walls

A quick trip out of town is one of life's great pleasures. It can really recharge your batteries without having to take vacation or personal time off of work. It is relatively inexpensive compared to a full week's vacation, and you do not have to pack a lot. In fact, a weekender bag for women is all you need to take that quick trip to Delaware or wherever else you wish to go.

A weekender bag is smaller than most suitcases but larger than a purse or handbag. It has enough room to fit two or possibly three days worth of clothes, plus a small amount of toiletries. It is perfect for a quick two or three day weekend because it lets you pack everything you need in one small bag, so you are not lugging a suitcase that is way too big for one weekend. If you are traveling by plane, most are small enough to take as carryon luggage, so you do not have to wait at a luggage carousel for your bag when you arrive at your destination.

There are quite a few materials to choose from when you are looking at the various types of weekenders on the market. Some are so handy that you may even be able to use them for other reasons besides a weekend trip. For example, that really upscale leather weekender might double as a briefcase or a shopping tote for your next retail therapy sessions. The thinner canvas ones may also be good as a shopping tote, or pack it with towels and sunscreen and take it to the beach.

A big part of the fun of choosing weekenders to purchase is looking at all the colors available to you. If you like to keep things demure and simple, you can opt to get a neutral or basic black tote. Perhaps you like to attract attention, so you can pick bold, bright hues or perhaps a stylish print that just screams to get noticed.

Whether you like your bags to come from a design house and made of luxury materials, or prefer more basic materials, there is something for everyone in this category of women's handbags. Just set a budget for yourself and choose accordingly.

You should also pay attention to what kind of straps and handles the bag has before you buy. If you like to carry across your body, then get one with a long crossbody type strap. If you want to just carry on one shoulder, a slightly shorter strap will do. Most bags also come with smaller handles that allow you to carry by hand only.

You might also find a few extras to go along with your new tote. Some have pockets on the inside which are very convenient for storing things like house keys that you may not need until you return. Others have special show compartments that allow you to pack a pair of kicks without worrying about them getting squished.

Enjoy your trip without having to use an oversized bag by purchasing a weekender. It it will fit nicely in a corner of your closet or even under your bed when not in use, then unfold to give you space for everything you need for that last minute, super quick trip out of town.
