BIGMAX Growth Trends

By Merv Carlson

The past ten years have witnessed the appearance and expansion of the BIGMAX TC series in all North America. It is the advanced quality and the excellent warranty which makes the success of the BIGMAX compact cranes. One more objective reason is, this type of crane market segment is becoming more mature.

Typically, when a well-conceived new machine or labor saving device is introduced into a market, sales start slowly as a few early adopters recognize it's potential. In the meantime, most of the market continues to work with familiar equipment doing things the traditional way.

The new product will trigger certain market forces if it can prove its worth to the users. Good feedback from users create an increase in product demand, leading to the appearance of a number of models. Other competitive manufacturers soon see the benefits and try to create new variations. As time goes by, the initial product steadily joins the mainstream and becomes part of the way of doing things.

BIGMAX cranes were introduced at a time when the small crane market was growing and expanding. Initially four models, the TC100, 130, 200 and 300 were offered to represent the most popular models on the market at that time. However, it quickly became apparent that more models were needed to fill in the gaps between the existing sizes, and, most of all there was a demand for a larger crane with more hydraulic reach. Three larger BIGMAX models were introduced within three years: the TC160, TC260 and the TC350.4. At the time the 350.4 had the longest hydraulic boom on the market.

BIGMAX TC cranes own compact design and require minimum mounting and stowage space. There are seven BIGMAX compact crane models available for sale with PTO pump or truck battery operated. Installing these cranes is easy since all models have the same mounting bolt pattern. The cranes are durable and do not require high maintenance.

BIGMAX TC 300 and TC 350 are the two models which owned up to twelve percent of growth in sales during the last twelve months. Sales of the smaller crane models remain unchanged. The reason is, there is an increase in OEM use of the bigger models as robotic arms to which specialized attachments such as shotcreting guns and post drivers are fitted. BIGMAX cranes come with heavy duty oil bath rotation systems, making it just perfect for more serious applications of this type.
