According to the 2014 Act of the persons with disability, parents play a fundamental role and should be members of educational team to assess their children.

This makes it possible to identify and come up with appropriate and workable plan for their kid together with the educators that will effectively assist their kids to succeed in school activities. The aim of IEP plan is design activities for the kid during school year and supports that will assist them in achieving their maximum potential.

Not every child need IEP, only those children with difficulty in functioning and learning that have been identified by professionals as special need students are required to be designed for the IEP. However, kids struggling in schools can also benefits from such supports. That is, giving them an opportunity to be taught in a special way. These services are offered to individuals suffering from learning disability, emotional disorders, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, cognitive challenges, hearing impairment, autism, speech or language impairment, visual impairment and development delay among others.

These services effectively serves children suffering from conditions such as hearing impairment, ADH, learning disability, autism, development delays, emotional disorders, language and speech disorders among other similar disabilities which can negatively impair learning.

This specialized room can be put in place to serve a group of kid suffering from similar condition or similar needs and are brought together for help. However, children with intense needs might not benefit from such intervention; they need a specialized school environment. In which the classes have fewer students per teachers making more necessary for individualized attention.

On the other hand, the services can be rendered in a specialized reading room with the necessary facilities for such users. These rooms are designed to serve learners with similar learning needs and are grouped according to their unique needs. Notably, children with intense needs or conditions may not be able to benefits from such situations or innervation.

Efforts are geared towards ensuring that children are helped to stay in a regular classroom. However, where it is only possible to meet their unique needs in specialized classroom, they are better placed in one.

Teachers are often trained in dealing with special need children, which is focused on meeting their unique needs. For instance, they are aware about their needs and ways of promoting holistic development. In an integrated school environment, special need children are required to spend most of their days in specialized classrooms and then latter join the rest of students in nonacademic activities such as music, gym or other activities that does not require specialized attention. However, in some situations they are unable to match regular classes therefore making it necessary for exclusion. The sole aim of IEP is to facilitate quality education to children with unique needs in a least restrictive environment.
